How can I format my Comcast HD cable box so non-HD programming fills screen?
I have 2 HD TVs in my house, and the downstairs one is set up properly so say if you are watching a regular non HD channel, it fills the screen automatically. On my upstairs HD, if I am not watching a HD channel the black bars are on the sides. Obviously there's a way to format the cable box to do it the way I want, does anyone know how it's done?

It's a function of both the TV and the box.
You can configure a Scientific Atlanta/Cisco box by turning the box off, then hitting INFO and GUIDE at the same time. This will bring you to the setup screen where you choose the output mode of the box. The procedure is similar for a Motorola box -- you turn it off, then on the remote I believe you hit MENU on the remote (sorry, we don't use Motorolas here so I don't know..). Fiddle around with those settings first.
After you set up the box to display in the modes only you want, go to your TV's menu system. It should have something you can set up about aspect ratio, zoom, fill, etc. depending on the model. One of the options might be 1:1. Again, fiddle around with those settings.
This is really going to be an issue you'll need to play around with to resolve, given the fact that TV's all have different settings.
