Can i use a potentiometer for this?
I have a stereo in my room, it came with 2 speakers (Front left+Front right) and i added another 2 (Rear Left + Rear Right) and placed them at the back of the room. But as the stereo was designed for only 2 speakers i just placed those speakers in the appropriate slots for left and right. So now for right there are 2 speakers (front and back) and for left there are 2 speakers (front and back).
I have 1 problem, my back speakers are very quiet as you cannot hear them unless you are right next to the speaker. As the stereo is only for 2 speakers it has no function to raise the volume of the back speakers.
I have heard that you can use potentiometers as a volume control, if i fitted these to the wires leading to the back speakers would they be able to raise the volume or can they only decrease the volume.
If i can use one which one should i buy.
