Broken radio antenna on an aftermarket car radio, can I fix?
Hello,
I recently installed a new cd player in my car. I had to pull it out to get behind it again and the radio antenna wire got caught on the side and pulled it and broke it. I tried crimping the wire back together but it still doesn't work. It looks like it has a plastic wire running down the middle of it. Does that have to be lined back up like fiber optics lines or something? that cant be done now.
Can I buy a new radio wire antenna and connect it to the system board inside of the unit or do I have to buy HD radio now. Or does that use this antenna as well??
Unit is a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X792.

you broke the cable did you? if you can,t afford a new antenna then do it this way. peel both ends of the cable, ground and the center of the cable, hook the centers together tight, tape it together with electrical tape and do the same way with the ground on the outside of the cable. it will work. i did that a few times.
